Abstract
Embodiments include methods for decellularizing an organ or tissue comprising conditioning the organ or tissue to be decellularized by exposing the organ or tissue to electricity, as well as methods of using such decellularized organs or tissues.
Claims17
A method for decellularizing an organ comprising:
- (a) suspending the organ to be decellularized in a electrically conducting fluid and exposing to an electric field established in fluid, and (b) after exposure to the electric field the organ is perfused with a washing solution to wash cellular debris from the organ.
