Abstract
The present invention is directed to compositions and methods of delivery of CoQ-10 solubilized in monoterpenes. Use of monoterpenes as dissolving agents, greatly effects the ability to incorporate greater amounts of bioactive CoQ-10 in formulations, such as soft gel capsules.
Claims21
A solubilized coenzyme Q-10 composition comprising:
- coenzyme Q-10 or an analog thereof;
- a sufficient quantity of a monoterpene suitable to solubilize said coenzyme Q-10 or analog thereof;
- and
- an acceptable carrier, wherein said composition provides an absorbed percentage of between about 5 percent and about 12 percent coenzyme Q-10 or analog thereof, based on the total amount of said coenzyme Q-10 or analog thereof administered.
1 more element
A solubilized coenzyme Q-10 composition comprising:
- coenzyme Q-10 or an analog thereof;
- a sufficient quantity of a monoterpene suitable to solubilize said coenzyme Q-10 or analog thereof;
- and
- an acceptable carrier, wherein said composition provides a steady state plasma level concentration of between about 2.5 μg/ml to about 3.5 μg/ml of coenzyme Q-10 or analog thereof.
1 more element
A solubilized coenzyme Q-10 composition comprising:
- coenzyme Q-10 or an analog thereof;
- a sufficient quantity of a monoterpene suitable to solubilize said coenzyme Q-10 or analog thereof;
- and
- an acceptable carrier, wherein said composition provides a peak plasma level of between about 2.1 μg/ml to about 3.0 μg/ml of coenzyme Q-10 or analog thereof.
