Abstract
A system for treating amblyopia through the visual stimulation of the brain through a predetermined regime is provided. The system for treating amblyopia comprises a headmountable visual content display device, a controller unit, a visual content source, a data storage device, a graphic processing unit and an audio source. A protocol useful for treating amblyopia by visual stimulation of the brain is also provided. A predetermined regime useful for treating amblyopia by stimulation of the brain is additionally provided.
Claims26
A system useful for treating amblyopia by a visual stimulation system comprising:
- a headmountable visual display device, comprising at least one display comprising at least one predefined displaying area;
- and
- a controller unit configured for streaming video content to said device;
- wherein said controller unit is configured to provide a predetermined regime to modify over time said at least one predefined displaying area in said device, by changing at least one display parameter affecting said predefined displaying area.
A protocol useful for treating amblyopia by a visual stimulation system comprising steps of:
- obtaining a headmountable visual display device, comprising at least one display comprising at least one predefined displaying area;
- streaming a video content through a controller unit to said device;
- wherein said protocol further comprises steps of:
- providing said controller unit with a predetermined regime;
- modifying over time said at least one displaying area in said device by changing at least one display parameter affecting said predefined displaying area;
- and
- displaying said modified displaying area to at least one eye;
- further wherein said modifying step is configured to be implemented according to said predetermined regime.
(canceled)
A predetermined regime useful for increasing the cerebral blood flow in the visual system of an amblyopic patient comprising at least one step of
- modifying at least one displaying area by changing at least one display parameter affecting display presentation at the frequency configured to be in the range of 0.5-60 Hz, wherein said modification is configured to increase the cerebral blood flow in the visual system in comparison to a regime lacking said modifications.
A visual stimulation regime for a binocular image display device comprising at least one visibly noticeable intensity alteration of at least one display parameter to at least one display area;
- said intensity alteration of said display parameter is applied to said at least one display area in the range of −99% to +99% of said intensity of said defined video's display parameter.
A visual stimulation regime for an image display device comprises at least one visibly noticeable intensity alteration of at least one image parameter defining a video image as presented on at least one display area;
- said intensity alteration of said image parameter is configured to be in the range of −99% to +99% of said intensity of said defined video's image parameter, wherein said image parameter is selected from the group consisting of contrast, brightness, sharpness, saturation, resolution or other conventional parameters and any combination thereof.
