Abstract
According to the invention, there is provided seed and plants of the hybrid corn variety designated CH417272. The invention thus relates to the plants, seeds and tissue cultures of the variety CH417272, and to methods for producing a corn plant produced by crossing a corn plant of variety CH417272 with itself or with another corn plant, such as a plant of another variety. The invention further relates to genetic complements of plants of variety CH417272.
Claims21
A seed of hybrid corn variety C14417272, produced by crossing a first plant of variety CV095074 with a second plant of variety CV 132428, wherein representative seed of said varieties CV095074 and CV 132428 have been deposited under ATCC Accession numbers PTA-11132 and PTA-121108, respectively.
A seed of hybrid corn variety CH417272 comprising at least a first single locus conversion, produced by crossing a first plant of variety CV095074 with a second plant of variety CV132428, wherein representative seed of said varieties CV095074 and CV132428 have been deposited under ATCC Accession numbers PTA-11132 and PTA-121108, respectively, and wherein one or both of the first plant and second plant comprises the single locus conversion, and wherein a plant grown from said seed comprises a trait conferred by said at least a first single locus conversion and otherwise comprises essentially all of the morphological and physiological characteristics of hybrid corn variety CH417272.
A method of introducing a heritable trait into hybrid corn variety CH417272 comprising the steps of:
- (a) introducing at least a first heritable trait into at least one inbred corn variety selected from the group consisting of variety CV095074 and variety CV 132428 to produce a plant of the first inbred corn variety that heritably carries the trait, wherein the heritable trait is introduced into said first inbred corn variety by backcrossing and wherein representative samples of seed of variety CV095074 and variety CV132428 have been deposited under ATCC Accession numbers PTA-11132 and PTA-121108, respectively;
- and
- (b) crossing a plant of the first inbred corn variety that heritably carries the trait with a plant of a different variety selected from said group consisting of CV095074 and CV 132428 to produce a plant of hybrid corn variety CH417272 comprising the heritable trait.
