Abstract
A motor system includes a motor including two linear Hall sensors configured to output analog signals, and a controller configured to control the motor. The controller is operable to monitor the analog signals output from the two linear Hall sensors, determine a plurality of auxiliary signals based on the analog signals, and determine a motor position based on the plurality of auxiliary signals.

A motor system comprising:
- a motor comprising two linear Hall sensors configured to output analog signals;
- and
- a controller configured to control the motor, the controller being operable to:
- monitor the analog signals output from the two linear Hall sensors;
- determine a reference signal based on one of the analog signals;
- convert another one of the analog signals to a shifted signal that is 90 electrical degrees from the reference signal;
- and
- determine a motor position based on the reference signal and the shifted signal.
