Abstract
Improved V2O5 materials are disclosed herein in the form of 2D leaf-like nanosheets. Methods of forming the V2O5 nanosheets and batteries (e.g., lithium-ion) incorporating the V2O5 nanosheets are also provided.
Claims18
A method of forming polycrystalline V2O5 nanosheets comprising the steps of:
- (a) providing a V2O5 gel;
- (b) freezing the V2O5 gel to provide a pre-frozen V2O5 gel;
- (c) lyophilizing the pre-frozen V2O5 gel to provide lyophilized V2O5;
- and
- (d) annealing the lyophilized V2O5 to provide polycrystalline V2O5 nanosheets.
2 more elements
A V2O5 nanosheet having a thickness of from about 3 nm to 1000 nm and a specific surface area of from about 1 m2 g−1 to about 500 m2 g−1;
- wherein the V2O5 nanosheet comprises a plurality of crystalline domains.
