Abstract
The present invention includes a multiuse clip assembly which can be employed to secure objects or panels to one another. It incorporates both the male and female features into each clip for greater versatility and durability over conventional clip systems. The unique universal and expandable mating system does not limit the orientation, position, or number of objects or panels that may be secured to one another.
Claims27
A clip assembly for securing two or more objects together, comprising at least one clip body, at least one male feature and at least one female feature,
- wherein said male feature and female feature are preferably located on two opposing symmetric planes about said clip body,
- wherein said symmetric planes form the legs of an isosceles triangle whose included angle may be any angle as required,
- wherein two additional planes internal to said clip body on the female side form a load-bearing interface,
- wherein said load-bearing interface planes form the legs of an isosceles triangle whose base is formed by the plane locating the female feature and
- wherein the included angle of the two planes is any angle as required.
A clip assembly for securing two or more objects together, comprising a clip body, at least one male feature and at least one female feature,
- wherein said male feature and said female feature are positioned on perpendicular planes to one another and symmetric about said clip body.
A method of assembling two or more objects together comprising:
- a) providing a first and second object,
- b) wherein each object includes at least one clip,
- c) wherein each clip includes both a male and female joint element, and a means for interlocking said male and female joint elements to one another,
- d) said clips facing in opposite directions generally along a common axis and
- e) wherein said clip assemblies leave additional joint features exposed to join additional clips.
