A head-worn device suitable for use in a vehicle that minimizes a physiological effect selected from the group of vertigo, motion sickness, motion intolerance, vision induced motion sickness, and spatial disorientation resulting from sensory mismatch between a person's visual, vestibular, and proprioceptive organs, the device comprising:
- a unit suitable for attachment to a person's head further comprising:
- an optical element selected from the group of a lens, a mirror, beam splitter, and a prism wherein the optical element is placed in a location visible to the person;
- an orientation indicator that provides a visible orientation cue to the person wherein:
- the orientation indicator is responsive to inertial orientation of the person's head and the orientation indicator does not use electricity;
- the orientation indicator is viewable by the person by looking at the optical element;
- whereby the person can view the location and movement of the orientation element by using the optical element to determine the inertial orientation of the person's head.
