Abstract
A method of manufacturing bistable strips having different curvatures, each strip including a plurality of portion of layers of materials, wherein at least one specific layer portion is deposited by a plasma spraying method in conditions different for each of the strips.
Claims22
A method, comprising:
- manufacturing a first bistable strip having a first curvature, manufacturing the first strip including forming a first plurality of layers including a first layer, wherein forming the first layer includes depositing the first layer by plasma spraying using a first set of conditions;
- and
- manufacturing a second bistable strip having a second curvature different from the first curvature, manufacturing the second strip including forming a second plurality of layers including a second layer, wherein forming the second layer includes depositing the second layer by plasma spraying using a second set of conditions different from the first set of conditions.
A bistable piezoelectric strip comprising:
- first and second conductive layers;
- a layer of a first piezoelectric material arranged between the first and second conductive layers;
- and
- a layer of a strained material arranged on an outer side of the strip.

A method comprising:
- manufacturing a plurality of bistable strips, wherein manufacturing includes:
- successively depositing, by a plasma spraying method, a plurality of layers on a substrate, wherein depositing the plurality of layers is performed under a set of conditions that imparts a first curvature of the bistable strip.
