Abstract
An audio converter device and a method for using the same. The audio converter device receives the digital audio data from a first device via a local area network. The audio converter device decompresses the digital audio data and converts the digital audio data into analog electrical data. The audio converter device transfers the analog electrical data to an audio playback device.
Claims20
A method according to a set of instructions stored on the memory of a computing device, the method comprising:
- receiving a portion of a digital media file via a local area network into a volatile memory in a client converter device;
- converting the portion of the digital media file in the volatile memory to a format usable by a media playback system;
- sending the converted portion of the digital media file to the media playback system, wherein the media playback is configured to play the portion of the digital media file;
- receiving, while the portion of the digital media file is being sent to the media playback system, a tag button activation signal;
- determining, a tag button activation message in response to receiving the tag button activation signal;
- and
- sending the tag button activation message to a server.
An apparatus comprising:
- a memory;
- a processor operatively coupled to the memory;
- and
- a first set of instructions stored on the memory and configured to be executed by the processor, wherein the processor is configured to:
- receive a portion of a digital media file via a local area network into a volatile memory in a client converter device;
- convert the portion of the digital media file in the volatile memory to a format usable by a media playback system;
- send the converted portion of the digital media file to the media playback system, wherein the media playback is configured to play the portion of the digital media file;
- receive, while the portion of the digital media file is being sent to the media playback system, a tag button activation signal;
- determine, a tag button activation message in response to receiving the tag button activation signal;
- and
- sending the tag button activation message to a server.
A non-transitory computer readable medium having instructions stored thereon that, upon execution by a computing device, cause the computing device to perform operations, wherein the instructions comprise:
- instructions to receive a portion of a digital media file via a local area network into a volatile memory in a client converter device;
- instructions to convert the portion of the digital media file in the volatile memory to a format usable by a media playback system;
- instructions to send the converted portion of the digital media file to the media playback system, wherein the media playback is configured to play the portion of the digital media file;
- instructions to receive, while the portion of the digital media file is being sent to the media playback system, a tag button activation signal;
- instructions to determine, a tag button activation message in response to receiving the tag button activation signal;
- and
- instructions to sending the tag button activation message to a server.
