Coordinate measuring machine

A coordinate measuring machine comprising:

• a Delta Robot as a support structure having an end effector movable within a motion zone;
• a tool-holder fixed to the end effector configured to accommodate various measurement probes;
• a control unit controlling the motion of the end effector with the tool-holder and the measurement probe within the motion zone and over a possible target object;
• and
• an analysing unit for processing electronic signals and/or data delivered by the measurement probe;
• wherein the measurement probe is a camera and the signals or data delivered by the measurement probe are images taken by said camera, wherein the camera comprising an optics having a field of view encompassing maximum 20% of the motion zone,
• wherein the analysing unit comprising storage means for storing said images and comprising a circuit unit for processing said images, and
• wherein the control unit is configured to move the camera over the target object in an “on the fly”-mode.
