Abstract
A visualization, alignment and support tool permitting one person fence rail installation, and greatly speeding the installation when more than two persons are employed. Specifically, the tool affixes temporarily to a fence pipe by way of friction and magnets and offers support for a length of fence rail; especially the ends of adjacent fence rails, so that the rails are supported and level relative to a fence pipe bracket which is affixed to the fence pipe. The rail ends can then be fastened with screws or other fasteners to the fence pipe bracket when desired without further adjustment required
Claims8
An apparatus for the temporary support, positioning, and affixing of fence rails to a pipe bracket mounted on a cylindrical fence pipe, comprising:
- (1) a platform with a broad substantially planar top surface having a semi-circular aperture therethrough shaped to partially encircle a fence pipe, the semi-circular aperture having a longitudinal axis, and, wherein the longitudinal axis of the aperture is substantially perpendicular to the top surface of the platform;
- (2) a pair of opposing arms with terminal ends circumjacent the semi-circular aperture with inner surfaces of the arms forming sides of the aperture, and between the terminal ends, an open span configured to freely and reversibly admit a section of fence pipe for platform mounting thereto;
- and,
- (3) at least one magnetic member substantially flush with the inner surface of the aperture.
