Abstract
A composition and method for treating textiles wherein textiles are contacted with a composition comprising optical brightener and fabric shading dyes optionally with alklyphthalimide derivatives and mixtures thereof.
Claims20
A fabric treatment composition comprising from about 0.0001 to about 0.1 wt % fabric shading dye and from about 0.0001 to about 10 wt % optical brightener having a ClogP from about 1 to about 50.
A method of treating a textile, the method comprising the steps of:
- (i) treating a textile with an aqueous solution comprising from about 1 ppb to about 10 ppm of a fabric shading dye and about 1 ppb to about 50 ppm of an optical brightener having ClogP from about 1 to about 50;
- and (ii) rinsing and drying the textile, preferably the aqueous solution also comprises from about 0.2 g/L to about 5 g/L of a surfactant.
