Abstract
An apparatus may include a sensor, a processor circuit, and an adaptive scanning component for execution on the processor circuit to receive sensor data from the sensor, to determine activity state based upon the received sensor data, and to adjust a wireless network scanning procedure in accordance with the received sensor data. Other embodiments are described and claimed.

An apparatus, comprising:
- one or more sensors;
- one or more radio devices;
- and
- logic, at least partially implemented in hardware, the logic to:
- receive sensor data from at least one of the one or more sensors,
- determine an activity state based on the sensor data,
- control a respective scanning rate for at least one radio device of the one or more radio devices based on whether the activity state indicates an expected change in at least one wireless network connection associated with the at least one radio device.
A computer-implemented method, comprising:
- receiving, by circuitry, sensor data from at least one of one or more sensors;
- determining, by circuitry, an activity state based on the sensor data;
- and
- controlling, by the circuitry, a respective scanning rate for at least one radio device based on whether activity state indicates an expected change in at least one wireless network connection associated with the at least one radio device.
The computer-implemented method of 39, the activity state to indicate the at least one wireless network connection to disconnect from in a wireless network within a time period when at least one of the acceleration frequency is above a frequency threshold and an illumination level is above an illumination threshold, and the respective scanning rate to increase from a current level for the at least one radio device if the associated wireless network connection is to disconnect.
At least one non-transitory computer-readable storage medium comprising instructions that, when executed, cause a system to:
- receive sensor data from at least one of one or more sensors;
- determine an activity state based on the sensor data;
- and
- control a respective scanning rate for at least one radio device based on whether the activity state indicates an expected change in at least one wireless network connection associated with the at least one radio device.
