Abstract
An in vitro assay for pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma, preferably an immunoassay, is based on the determination of anti-ezrin auto-antibodies in a biological sample from a subject suspected of being affected by pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma or from a subject whose predisposition to pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma one desires a determination.

A method for in vitro diagnosis of pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma in a subject or for determining predisposition of a subject to pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma, comprising the step of determining in a biological sample from the subject, a presence, an absence or a level of antibodies against ezrin, wherein the presence of antibodies against ezrin or the level of antibodies against ezrin above a predetermined threshold is indicative of pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma or of a predisposition to pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma.
A kit for in vitro diagnosis of pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma in a subject or for determining predisposition of a subject to pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma, comprising:
- at least one affinity reagent suitable to bind antibodies against ezrin thereby forming a first immunocomplex;
- at least one further affinity reagent selected from an affinity reagent suitable to bind carbohydrate antigen 19.9 thereby forming a second immunocomplex, and an affinity reagent suitable to bind antibodies against phosphorylated alpha-enolase thereby forming a third immunocomplex;
- means for detecting the first immunocomplex;
- and
- means for detecting the second immunocomplex or means for detecting the third immunocomplex.

- at least one affinity reagent suitable to bind antibodies against ezrin thereby forming a first immunocomplex;
- at least one affinity reagent suitable to bind carbohydrate antigen 19.9 thereby forming a second immunocomplex;
- at least one affinity reagent suitable to bind antibodies against phosphorylated alpha-enolase thereby forming a third immunocomplex;
- means for detecting the first immunocomplex;
- means for detecting the second immunocomplex;
- and
- means for detecting the third immunocomplex.
