Abstract
Disclosed herein is a method of cementing a surface with a set-delayed cement composition. The method comprises providing a set-delayed cement composition comprising water, pumice, hydrated lime, and a set retarder. The method further comprises placing the set-delayed cement composition into or onto a surface to be cemented and allowing the set-delayed cement composition to set in the surface.

A method of cementing a surface with a set-delayed cement composition:
- providing a set-delayed cement composition comprising water, pumice, hydrated lime, and a set retarder;
- placing the set-delayed cement composition onto or into a surface to be cemented;
- and
- allowing the set-delayed cement composition to set.
A method of producing a set-delayed cement composite material:
- providing a set-delayed cement composition comprising water, pumice, hydrated lime, and a set retarder;
- adding the set-delayed cement composition to a non-cementitious material;
- and
- allowing the set-delayed cement composition added to the non-cementitious material to set and form a set-delayed cement composite.
A cementing system comprising:
- a cement composition comprising:
- water,
- pumice,
- hydrated lime, and
- a set retarder;
- a cementing unit comprising:
- a vessel,
- a pump,
- and a conduit.
