Abstract
A decoy device is constructed of a lightweight foam material formed as a planar decoy blank. The decoy body is easily foldable from a flat configuration to a buoyant three-dimensional decoy. The decoy body is releasably secured in the three-dimensional condition via an attachment means. A double-headed element is included having a male gender at one end and a female gender at an opposing end thereof. The body and double-headed element include opposing sides, each adorned with markings such that they resemble a particular wild game species, including gender, desired for exposed representation.
Claims20
A decoy device comprising:
- a lightweight, flexible panel formed or die cut into a planar decoy blank;
- and
- a double-headed element.
A decoy apparatus comprising:
- a lightweight, flexible panel formed or die cut into a planar decoy blank, the blank is foldable into a body comprising a three-dimensional configuration representing a wild game species, the body is releasably held securely in the three-dimensional configuration via an attachment device;
- a double-headed element, the double-headed element is releasably secured to the body via a securing mechanism;
- and
- a stabilizer device, the stabilizer device comprises:
- an elongated, generally rectangular-shaped sleeve integrally molded to or detachably secured to a bottom of the body of the decoy device proximate a center thereof via a fastening mechanism;
- a weight;
- and
- a connecting link, the connecting link interconnects the weight to the sleeve, the connecting link is selectively-adjustable to a length which corresponds to a desired depth at which the weight extends downwardly from the stabilizer into a body of water, and wherein the sleeve comprises open opposed ends and an open interior sizably configured for snugly receiving and detachably retaining the weight therein.
A decoy device for attracting wild game, the decoy device comprising:
- a lightweight, flexible panel formed or die cut into a planar decoy blank, the blank is foldable into a body comprising a three-dimensional configuration representing a wild game species, the body is releasably held securely in the three-dimensional configuration via an attachment device;
- a double-headed element, the double-headed element is releasably secured to the body via a securing mechanism;
- and
- an anchor assembly for anchoring the decoy device to the ground, the anchor assembly comprises:
- a stake comprising an elongated body having an upper end opposing a sharpened lower end;
- and
- a grommet extending through a hole defined through a medial section of the blank, proximate an elongated centerline of the blank, the grommet is fixedly seated in the hole and occupies an entire diameter thereof, the grommet includes a head and a cylinder extending integrally downward therefrom, the cylinder includes an open bottom providing direct open passage to an open interior of the cylinder, the open interior of the cylinder for slidably receiving the upper end of the stake, wherein the stake is secured to the grommet via mechanical interference, and wherein the stake is driven into the ground by applying a downward force to the head of the grommet, thereby anchoring the decoy device to the ground in an elevationally-supported manner with respect to the ground.
