Methods and Systems for Selecting a Velocity Profile for Controlling a Robotic Device

A device comprising:

• at least one processor;
• and
• memory including instructions executable by the at least one processor to cause the device to perform functions comprising:
• receiving information associated with an environment in which a robotic device is operating,
• selecting a velocity profile for the robotic device based at least in part on the information associated with the environment in which the robotic device is operating, and
• controlling changes in velocity over time for the robotic device using the selected velocity profile.

A robotic device comprising:

• at least one processor;
• and
• memory including instructions executable by the at least one processor to cause the robotic device to perform functions comprising:
• determining information associated with an environment in which the robotic device is operating, and
• selecting a velocity profile for the robotic device based at least in part on the information associated with the environment in which the robotic device is operating.
