## Abstract

The present invention relates to a wireless communication system, and more specifically, disclosed are a method and an apparatus for reporting channel status information. A method for reporting the channel status information (CSI) from a user equipment in the wireless communication system, according to one embodiment of the present invention, comprises the steps of: receiving from a base station a channel status information-reference signal (CSI-RS) on the basis of CSI-RS configuration information, which is provided from the base station; and reporting to the base station the CSI that is generated by using the CSI-RS, wherein the CSI-RS configuration information can include a plurality of CSI-RS configurations with respect to a first domain antenna group having a 2-dimensional antenna structure of the base station.

## Claims

### Claim 1

A method for reporting channel status information (CSI) by a user equipment in a wireless communication system, the method comprising: receiving, from a base station, a channel status information-reference signal (CSI-RS) based on CSI-RS configuration information provided from the base station; and
reporting, to the base station, the CSI generated by using the CSI-RS,
wherein the CSI-RS configuration information includes a plurality of CSI-RS configurations for a first domain antenna group of a 2-dimensional antenna structure of the base station.

### Claim 2 (depends on 1)

The method according to claim 1, wherein the CSI is determined based on one selected from the plurality of CSI-RS configurations.

### Claim 3 (depends on 1)

The method according to claim 1, wherein the CSI includes one precoding vector preferred by the user equipment, and the one precoding vector is selected from a plurality of precoding vectors determined based on the plurality of CSI-RS configurations.

### Claim 4 (depends on 1)

The method according to claim 1, wherein precoding vectors for a second domain antenna group of the 2-dimensional antenna structure are previously determined.

### Claim 5 (depends on 4)

The method according to claim 4, wherein the plurality of CSI-RS configurations for the first domain antenna group are determined based on the precoding vectors previously determined for the second domain antenna group.

### Claim 6 (depends on 4)

The method according to claim 4, wherein the plurality of CSI-RS configurations for the first domain antenna group are determined based on one precoding vector previously determined for the second domain antenna group.

### Claim 7 (depends on 4)

The method according to claim 4, wherein the plurality of CSI-RS configurations for the first domain antenna group are determined on a assumption that beamforming in the second domain is performed based on the precoding vectors previously determined for the second domain antenna group.

### Claim 8 (depends on 4)

The method according to claim 4, wherein 3-dimensional beamforming for the 2-dimensional antenna structure is determined by combination of beamforming in the first domain, which is determined considering the CSI, and beamforming in the second domain, which is determined in accordance with the precoding vectors previously determined for the second domain antenna group.

### Claim 9 (depends on 1)

The method according to claim 1, wherein the first domain is a horizontal domain, and the second domain is a vertical domain.

### Claim 10 (depends on 1)

The method according to claim 1, wherein the first domain is a vertical domain, and the second domain is a horizontal domain.

### Claim 11

A user equipment for reporting channel status information (CSI) in a wireless communication system, the user equipment comprising:
a receiver;
a transmitter; and
a processor,
wherein the processor is configured to receive, from a base station, a channel status information-reference signal (CSI-RS) based on CSI-RS configuration information provided from the base station, through the receiver and report, to the base station, the CSI generated by using the CSI-RS, through the transmitter, and
the CSI-RS configuration information includes a plurality of CSI-RS configurations for a first domain antenna group of a 2-dimensional antenna structure of the base station.

### Claim 12

A method for receiving channel status information (CSI) by a base station in a wireless communication system, the method comprising:
providing the CSI to a user equipment, and transmitting, to the user equipment, a channel status information-reference signal (CSI-RS) based on CSI-RS configuration information; and
receiving the CSI generated by the user equipment by using the CSI-RS from the user equipment,
wherein the CSI-RS configuration information includes a plurality of CSI-RS configurations for a first domain antenna group of a 2-dimensional antenna structure of the base station.

### Claim 13

A base station for receiving channel status information (CSI) in a wireless communication system, the base station comprising:
a receiver;
a transmitter; and
a processor,
wherein the processor is configured to provide the CSI to a user equipment, transmit, to the user equipment, a channel status information-reference signal (CSI-RS) based on CSI-RS configuration information, through the transmitter, and receive the CSI generated by the user equipment by using the CSI-RS from the user equipment through the receiver,
wherein the CSI-RS configuration information includes a plurality of CSI-RS configurations for a first domain antenna group of a 2-dimensional antenna structure of the base station.
