Abstract
Attachment plates and systems for pipe support interfaces are disclosed. According to one embodiment, system for pipe-support interface, having a pipe, a pipe support, and a low-friction surface between the pipe and pipe support, includes an improvement comprising a plate in an interface between the low-friction surface and the pipe support, the plate constructed of a corrosion resistant material, the plate having a recessed area for receiving the low-friction surface.
Claims20
A device for attaching a low-friction surface between a pipe and a support for the pipe, the low-friction surface having a flat face, the device comprising:
- a flat, rectangular plate having a recessed portion capable of receiving the flat face of the low-friction surface, the recessed portion of the plate bounded by first and second raised outer edges;
- wherein the plate has a first set of holes through the recessed portion capable of allowing attachment means to pass through for attachment of the plate to the low-friction surface;
- wherein the first outer edge has a second set of holes through capable of allowing attachment means to pass through for attachment of the plate to the support;
- and,
- wherein the second outer edge has a third set of holes capable of allowing attachment means to pass through for attachment of the plate to the support.
An improved pipe-support interface for a pipe supporting system, the system having a pipe, a support for the pipe, an interface between the pipe and support, and a low-friction surface in the interface, the low-friction surface having a flat face, the improvement comprising:
- a plate between the low-friction surface and the pipe support, the plate constructed of a corrosion resistant material, wherein the plate has a recessed area for receiving the flat face of the low-friction surface.
A method of installing a low-friction surface with a flat face between a pipe and a support having an upper surface, the method utilizing a plate containing a recess bordered by first and second outer edges, the method comprising:
- attaching the lower portion of the low-friction surface to the recessed portion of a plate;
- and,
- attaching the at least one of the outer edges of the plate to the upper surface of the support.
