Abstract
A cassette is provided which includes a supply of label material and a brake. The brake has a first position and a second position. In the first position, the supply is clamped by the brake. In the second position, the supply is removable from the cassette.

A cassette comprising:
- a main body portion housing a supply of label material;
- an outlet for said supply of label material;
- and an engagement portion connected to the main body portion;
- the engagement portion configured for engagement with an engagement member of a label printer, when inserted in a cassette receiving bay of the label printer.

A label printing apparatus comprising:
- a cassette receiving bay configured to receive a cassette;
- an engagement member in said cassette receiving bay;
- said engagement member having a first configuration in which the engagement member is configured to be spaced from a cassette in the cassette receiving bay, and the engagement member having a second configuration in which the engagement member is configured to engage an engagement portion of the cassette, so as to retain the cassette in the cassette receiving bay.
A combination of label printing apparatus and a cassette, the label printing apparatus comprising
- a cassette receiving bay configured to receive a cassette;
- an engagement member in said cassette receiving bay;
- said engagement member having a first configuration in which the engagement member is configured to be spaced from a cassette in the cassette receiving bay, and the engagement member having a second configuration in which the engagement member is configured to engage an engagement portion of the cassette, so as to retain the cassette in the cassette receiving bay, and the cassette comprising
- a main body portion housing a supply of label material;
- an outlet for said supply of label material;
- and an engagement portion connected to the main body portion;
- the engagement portion configured for engagement with an engagement member of a label printer, when inserted in a cassette receiving bay of the label printer.
