## Abstract

Checking device for a label, with a detection and processing unit for the detection of the label and with a layout unit for the creation of a layout of the label, wherein the checking device comprises a data converter unit configured in such a way that it generates test data from data for creating the label in order to control the detection and processing unit. The invention also relates to a data converter unit for use in a checking device, wherein the data converter unit is configured in such a way that it generates test data from data for creating a label for checking the label.

### Claim 1

A checking device for a label, comprising a detection and processing unit for the detection of the label and with a layout unit for the creation of a layout of the label,
wherein:
the checking device comprises a data converter unit, which is configured in such a way that it generates test data from data for the creation of the label in order to control the detection and processing unit.

The checking device according to claim 1, wherein the detection and processing unit is configured as an image processor.

### Claim 3 (depends on 1)

The checking device according to claim 1, wherein the test data exist as metadata.

The checking device according to claim 1, wherein the data converter unit is integrated in the layout unit and/or in the detection and processing unit.

A data converter unit for use in a checking device according to claim 1, wherein the data converter unit is configured in such a way that it generates test data from data for the creation of a label for the checking of the label.

The data converter unit according to claim 5, wherein the data converter unit is configured in such a way that the test data are available in the form of metadata.
