Method and Device for Clearing Media Access Control Forwarding Entry

A device for clearing a media access control (MAC) forwarding entry, the device comprising:

• a processor;
• and
• a computer-readable storage medium storing instructions to be executed by the processor, such that the processor is programmed to clear the media access control (MAC) forwarding entry by:
• detecting that a topology of a network accessed by a local terminal changes;
• and
• sending a first packet to a second route bridge (RB), where the first packet is used to instruct the second RB to clear a MAC forwarding entry corresponding to the first packet and wherein the second RB is configured with at least one virtual local area network (VLAN) the same as that of the device.

A device for clearing a media access control (MAC) forwarding entry, the device comprising:

• a processor;
• and
• a computer-readable storage medium storing instructions to be executed by the processor, such that the processor is programmed to clear the media access control (MAC) forwarding entry by:
• receiving a first packet sent by a first route bridge (RB) after the first RB detects that a topology of a network accessed by a local terminal changes;
• and
• clearing a corresponding MAC forwarding entry according to the first packet.
