Abstract
A mechanism is provided for diagnosing graphics display problems during running of an application. A frame of the application drawn by a graphics processing unit is selected. A central processing unit draws the frame. The graphics processing unit drawn frame and the central processing unit drawn frame are compared to determine if there is a graphics problem.
Claims22
A method, in a data processing system, for diagnosing graphics display problems during running of an application, comprising:
- selecting, by a central processing unit in the data processing system, a frame of the application drawn by a graphics processing unit;
- drawing, by the central processing unit, the frame;
- comparing, by the central processing unit, the graphics processing unit drawn frame and the central processing unit drawn frame to determine if there is a graphics problem.
A system for diagnosing graphics display problems during running of an application, comprising:
- a central processing unit;
- and
- a memory coupled to the processor, wherein the memory comprises instructions which, when executed by the central processing unit cause the central to:
- select a frame of the application drawn by a graphics processing unit;
- draw the frame;
- and
- compare the graphics processing unit drawn frame and the central processing unit drawn frame to determine if there is a graphics problem.

A computer program product for diagnosing graphics display problems during running of an application, the computer program product comprising a computer readable storage medium having a computer readable program stored therein, wherein the computer readable program, when executed on a computing device, causes the computing device to:
- select a frame of the application drawn by a graphics processing unit;
- draw the frame;
- and
- compare the graphics processing unit drawn frame and the central processing unit drawn frame to determine if there is a graphics problem.
