Abstract
The invention provides methods and compositions for improving a froth flotation type separation. The method uses a microemulsion to improve the effectiveness of a collector. The improvement allows for low dosages of collector to work as well as much greater amounts of non-microemulsified collector.
Claims12
A method of enhancing the performance of a collector in a froth flotation separation of slurry in a medium, the method comprising the steps of:
- making a stable collector microemulsion,
- blending the microemulsion, the medium, fines, and optionally other additives, and
- removing concentrate from the slurry by sparging the slurry.
