The pipe has one end which points toward a nozzle of the burner and another end which points toward a cover of the burner. The deflecting element is arranged in the interior space between a center of the pipe in respect of a longitudinal direction thereof and the one end of the pipe. ## Claims ### Claim at position 1 1-15. (canceled) ### Claim 16 A burner for a gas-heated cooking appliance, comprising: a pipe for mixing burnable gas with primary air; and a deflecting element arranged in an interior space bounded by the pipe. ### Claim 17 (depends on 16) The burner of claim 16, further comprising a cover and a nozzle, said pipe having one end which points toward the nozzle and another end which points toward the cover, said deflecting element being arranged between a center of the pipe in respect of a longitudinal direction thereof and the one end of the pipe. ### Claim 18 (depends on 16) The burner of claim 16, wherein the deflecting element is designed to be cruciform. ### Claim 19 (depends on 16) The burner of claim 16, wherein the deflecting element has at least one piece of wire. ### Claim 20 (depends on 19) The burner of claim 19, wherein the piece of wire has a diameter of between 0 and 3 mm. ### Claim 21 (depends on 19) The burner of claim 19, wherein the piece of wire has a diameter of
