Abstract
A photo scaling guide or system configured to scale both the area and linear dimensions of wounds or objects at the same time with one device.
Claims25
A device for visual indication of actual linear and area characteristics of an object, the device comprising:
- a closed device having an actual area size corresponding to a predetermined area characteristic value and having at least one linear ruler indicia indicating a predetermined actual length characteristic value associated with the device, the device configured to adhere to the object:
- said device having a unique visual indicator uniquely representing said predetermined area characteristic value according to a predetermined visual indicator code scheme representative of a plurality of different size characteristic values;
- and
- wherein the device visual indicator is a color indicating said size characteristic value, and said code scheme includes a plurality of different colors each identifying a particular unique size characteristic.

A method for calibrating and measuring area and linear length size characteristics of an object, comprising:
- providing a calibration device having a closed device configuration, the device having an actual area corresponding to one predetermined area characteristic value, said device having a unique visual indicator representing said predetermined area characteristic value according to a predetermined visual indicator code scheme representative of a plurality of different area characteristic values, and wherein the device visual indicator is a color indicating said area characteristic value, and said code scheme includes a plurality of different colors each identifying a particular unique area characteristic;
- the calibration device further comprising at least one linear scale indicia indicating a predetermined actual length characteristic value associated with the device;
- arranging said device around or alongside the object;
- and
- recording a color image of the device and the object, and wherein the image reflects said color and thereby indicates said area characteristic in relation to the object, and said linear scale indicia is recorded in the image to indicate an actual linear dimension in the image.

- wherein the device visual indicator comprises a visible alphanumeric marking on the device, said marking indicative of a value of said area size.
