Method and apparatus for custodial monitoring, filtering, and approving of content

A server computer comprising a processor configured to:

• receive a request from a user for content from an unauthorized web page that was not previously approved on a computing device;
• compare the request to a system database of approved requests and system approving the request when the request is in the system database of approved requests;
• compare the system approved request to a parental filter;
• ban the system approved request when the system approved request is in the parental filter of banned requests;
• grant the system approved request when the system approved request is not banned by the parental filter and transmit the content to the user in response to the request.

A method comprising:

• receiving, at a server computer, a request from a user for content from an unauthorized web page that was not previously approved on a computing device;
• comparing, by the server computer, the request to a system database of approved requests and system approving the request when the request is in the system database of approved requests;
• comparing, by the server computer, the system approved request to a parental filter;
• banning, by the server computer, the system approved request when the system approved request is in the parental filter of banned requests;
• granting, by the server computer, the system approved request when the system approved request is not banned by the parental filter and transmitting the content to the user in response to the request.

A computing device comprising a processor configured to:

• transmit a request for content from an unauthorized web page that was not previously approved on the computing device wherein a server computer receives the request for content, compares the request to a system database of approved requests and system approves the request when the request is in the system database of approved requests, compares the system approved request to a parental filter, bans the system approved request when the system approved request is in the parental filter of banned requests, grants the system approved request when the system approved request is not banned by the parental filter and transmits the content to the user in response to the request;
• receive a notification when the request for content is banned by the server computer;
• and
• receive the content when the request for content is granted by the server computer.
