Abstract
The present invention relates generally to systems and methods for measuring an analyte in a host. More particularly, the present invention relates to systems and methods for transcutaneous measurement of glucose in a host.
Claims12
A method for monitoring glucose concentration in a biological sample of a host, the method comprising:
- producing a data stream indicative of a glucose concentration of a host using a continuous glucose sensor;
- prospectively converting, using a first processor, uncalibrated sensor data associated with the data stream to generate real-time calibrated glucose concentration information, the prospective conversion comprising applying the uncalibrated sensor data to a prospectively-generated conversion function;
- retrospectively converting, using a second processor, the uncalibrated sensor data associated with the data stream to generate historical calibrated glucose concentration information, the retrospective conversion comprising applying the uncalibrated sensor data to a retrospectively-generated conversion function, wherein the prospectively-generated conversion function is different than the retrospectively-generated conversion function;
- and
- displaying the historical calibrated glucose concentration information on a display device.
