Abstract
A control device, in particular for an electrical or electronic device, which has a base element and an actuating element which is manually rotatable in relation to the base element about an actuation axis, the control device further having a sensor unit for detecting a movement of the actuating element about the actuation axis, the sensor unit further including an acceleration sensor.

- a base element;
- an actuating element which is manually rotatable in relation to the base element about an actuation axis;
- and
- a sensor unit for detecting a movement of the actuating element about the actuation axis, wherein the sensor unit includes an acceleration sensor.

A method for operating a control device, the method comprising:
- detecting a rotation of an actuating element about an actuation axis by an acceleration sensor;
- wherein the control device is for an electrical/electronic device, including a base element, the actuating element, which is manually rotatable in relation to the base element about an actuation axis, and the sensor unit, which is for detecting a movement of the actuating element about the actuation axis, and wherein the sensor unit includes the acceleration sensor.
