Abstract
A jacket retains a cylindrical drug vial and includes a substantially planar base having a length and a width, the length being greater than the width. A throughhole is sized to receive at least the lid of the vial therethrough. Two ramped devices project from a bottom surface of the base and are substantially aligned along the length of the base. The ramped devices are disposed on opposite sides of the throughhole.
Claims20
An extended jacket for retaining a cylindrical drug vial, the vial having a lid with a first diameter oriented in a horizontal direction, a body with a second diameter, and a neck between the lid and the body having a third diameter, the third diameter being less than each of the first diameter and the second diameter, the jacket comprising:
- a bowl-shaped base including a throughhole at a bottom portion of the base, the throughhole being sized to receive at least the lid of the vial therethrough;
- and
- a plurality of tabs projecting upwardly and radially inwardly from a perimeter of the throughhole, a distance between distal ends of two opposing said tabs being less than the first and second diameters and greater than the third diameter.
A jacket for retaining a cylindrical drug vial, the jacket comprising:
- a substantially planar base including:
- a length and a width, the length being greater than the width;
- and
- a throughhole sized to receive at least the lid of the vial therethrough;
- and
- two ramped devices projecting from a bottom surface of the base and substantially aligned along the length of the base, the ramped devices being disposed on opposite sides of the throughhole.
A method of retaining a cylindrical drug vial, comprising the steps of:
- providing a jacket including:
- a substantially planar base having:
- a length and a width, the length being greater than the width;
- and
- a throughhole sized to receive at least the lid of the vial therethrough, a bottom surface of the base including two;
- and
- two ramped devices projecting from a bottom surface of the base and substantially aligned along the length of the base, the ramped devices being disposed on opposite sides of the throughhole;
- inserting the vial upwardly through the throughhole such that the ramped devices are biased radially outwardly by a lid of the vial, and the ramped devices move back in radially inward directions and are thereby received in a neck of the vial after the lid passes by the ramped devices.
