Hybrid welder with detachable energy storage device

A hybrid welder comprising a cabinet;

• an energy storage device supported by the cabinet;
• means for removably attaching the cabinet to the welder;
• and
• further comprising a sensor connection connected to the welder and supported adjacent to the cabinet, wherein a sensor lead extends from the energy storage device and is connected to the sensor connection, wherein the sensor connection is selectively detachable from the welder;

A hybrid welder comprising:

• a controller;
• an engine, the engine being electrically connected to the controller to provide electrical power thereto;
• a housing supporting the engine;
• an energy storage device;
• a cabinet supporting the energy storage device;
• wherein the cabinet is attached to the housing by a releasable attachment assembly;
• wherein the releasable attachment assembly is used to selectively detach the cabinet from the housing;
• a power connector including a conductor electrically connected to the controller and the energy storage device, wherein at least one of the energy storage device and the controller are electrically connected to the conductor by a connector that is selectively detachable from the conductor to disconnect the energy storage device from the controller when the cabinet is detached from the housing.

A hybrid welder comprising:

• a cabinet that opens toward a welder, wherein the cabinet is removably attached to the welder, the cabinet defining an enclosed space therein that opens toward the welder, wherein the welder covers the enclosed space upon attachment of the cabinet thereto;
• an energy storage device housed within the cabinet, wherein the cabinet extends above the energy storage device to extend the enclosed space above the energy storage device;
• and
• a power connector connecting the welder and the energy storage device, wherein the power connector is housed within the enclosed space between the cabinet and the welder when the cabinet is attached to the welder.
