Cut-Proof Anti-Theft Bag Construction

A security panel assembly for placement within an interior of a carrying bag, the security panel assembly comprising:

• a first flexible material layer;
• a second flexible material layer coupled to the first flexible material layer;
• and
• a wire matrix arranged between the first flexible material layer and the second flexible material layer, the wire matrix comprising a plurality of wire crossings forming a plurality of closed wire shapes, each wire crossing comprising at least two sections of wire abutting but uncoupled to each other.

A carrying bag comprising:

• a substantially cut-resistant security panel assembly comprising a first flexible material layer having a first side, a metal wire matrix arranged on the first side of the first flexible material layer, and a second flexible material layer adjacent to the metal wire matrix and coupled with a plurality of stitches or an adhesive to the first flexible material layer, the metal wire matrix comprising a plurality of wire crossings forming a plurality of closed wire shapes, each wire crossing comprising at least two sections of wire abutting but uncoupled to each other;
• an exterior bag having an inside chamber enclosing the security panel assembly, the exterior bag including a first opening for access to the inside chamber of the exterior bag;
• a flexible material lining coupled to an interior surface of the security panel assembly;
• a first fastener coupled to the first opening;
• a second, manually-releasable fastener coupled to one of the exterior bag or the first fastener and removably couplable to the respective other first fastener or the exterior bag;
• a first locking carabiner or locking fastener coupled through a loop to the exterior bag;
• and
• a carry strap removably couplable to the first locking carabiner or locking fastener, the carry strap further comprising a substantially cut-resistant metal cable.
