Abstract
A camshaft phaser system including an output drive element non-rotatably connected to a camshaft, and a control valve disposed in a central receptacle of the output drive element, the control valve extending axially into a central bore of the camshaft and being formed with at least a first operating port and a second operating port axially spaced apart therefrom. The control valve is axially disposed such that the first operating port is axially positioned in the camshaft.

A camshaft phaser system comprising:
- an output drive element non-rotatably connected to a camshaft;
- and
- a control valve disposed in a central receptacle of the output drive element, the control valve extending axially into a central bore of the camshaft and being formed with at least a first operating port and a second operating port axially spaced apart therefrom, the control valve being axially disposed such that the first operating port is axially positioned in the camshaft.
