Apparatus for the assisted performance of a fitness exercise

An apparatus for the assisted performance of a fitness exercise, equipped with a fitness tool configured to interact with a user to enable the user to perform a movement along a preset path overcoming the force of a resistant load, the fitness tool comprising at least a dumb-bell having a handgrip provided with weights at its ends,

• wherein the apparatus comprises:
• a detector configured to provide a signal representing the movement of the user;
• feedback generator for transmitting a feedback signal to the user during performance of the exercise;
• a processor connected to the detector and to the feedback generator to provide the user with feedback in real time on the correctness of performance of the exercise, based on a comparison between the signal representing the movement of the user and a predetermined reference pattern representing an ideal pattern for the movement of the user corresponding to the exercise performed correctly,
• wherein the feedback means comprise (i) a graphical representation of the body of the user generated by a succession of user positions and (ii) graphical elements based on the reference pattern and representative of the difference between the signal representing the movement of the user and the predetermined reference pattern,
• wherein the processor is programmed to display said graphical elements only when the difference between the signal representing the movement of the user and the predetermined reference pattern exceeds a predetermined tolerance margin, whereby the reference pattern is not displayed as long as the difference between the signal representing the movement of the user and the predetermined reference pattern is less than or equal to said predetermined tolerance margin.
