Generating a fault tree

A computer program product, comprising a computer-readable hardware storage device having a computer-readable program code stored therein, said program code configured to be executed by a processor of a computer system to implement a method for generating a fault tree of an object to be analyzed, wherein the object to be analyzed comprises a plurality of functional blocks, the method comprising:

• the processor storing a configuration information of the object to be analyzed, wherein the configuration information identifies the plurality of functional blocks and further identifies a plurality of signal lines that each connect two or more blocks of the plurality of functional blocks;
• the processor acquiring an exclusion target information that identifies a part to be excluded from the fault tree, wherein the part to be excluded comprises at least one of a first functional block of the plurality of functional blocks and a first signal line of the plurality of signal lines;
• and
• the processor creating from the configuration information and from the exclusion target information a fault tree of a part to be analyzed, wherein the creating comprises excluding the part to be excluded from the plurality of functional blocks and from the plurality of signal lines.

A computer system comprising a processor, a memory coupled to said processor, and a computer-readable hardware storage device coupled to said processor, said storage device containing program code configured to be run by said processor via the memory to implement a method for generating a fault tree of an object to be analyzed, wherein the object to be analyzed comprises a plurality of functional blocks, the method comprising:

• the processor storing a configuration information of the object to be analyzed, wherein the configuration information identifies the plurality of functional blocks and further identifies a plurality of signal lines that each connect two or more blocks of the plurality of functional blocks;
• the processor acquiring an exclusion target information that identifies a part to be excluded from the fault tree, wherein the part to be excluded comprises at least one of a first functional block of the plurality of functional blocks and a first signal line of the plurality of signal lines;
• and
• the processor creating from the configuration information and from the exclusion target information a fault tree of a part to be analyzed, wherein the creating comprises excluding the part to be excluded from the plurality of functional blocks and from the plurality of signal lines.
