Abstract
The present disclosure relates to devices, methods and kits for accelerating the rate of whitening of teeth using an oxidizing agent, a photocatalytic agent, and a portable lightsource.
Claims16
An illuminating device comprising an LED lightsource that generates a desired intensity, frequency and wavelength of light that is coupled to a removable mouthpiece that acts as the lightguide for precisely directing the light to the teeth.
A method of tooth whitening comprising:
- preconditioning the tooth surface with one or more photocatalytic agents and one or more oxidizing agents, and irradiating the tooth surface with light from an LED lightsource.
A whitening kit for home use comprising a composition of zinc oxide, a composition of hydrogen peroxide and a light source.
A method of treating bad breath or halitosis comprising administering to a patient in need thereof blue light for a period between 5 to about 10 minutes.
