[Object] To produce a (meth)acrylate copolymer useful as a photocurable resin composition at a temperature favorable to industrial production in a short time. [Solution] There is provided a method for producing a (meth)acrylate copolymer (X), including anionic polymerization of a mixture of a di(meth)acrylate represented by the following general formula (1) and an alkyl (meth)acrylate represented by the following general formula (2) in the presence of an organolithium compound (L), a tertiary organoaluminum compound (A) having a chemical structure represented by the general formula Al—O—Ar (wherein Ar denotes an aromatic ring) in its molecules, and at least one Lewis base (B) selected from the group consisting of ethers and tertiary polyamines. (wherein R1 denotes a hydrogen atom or a methyl group, R2 denotes a linear alkylene group having 1 to 5 carbon atoms, and R3 and R4 each independently denote a hydrocarbon group having 1 to 6 carbon atoms) (wherein R5 denotes a hydrogen atom or a methyl group, and R6 denotes an alkyl group having 1 to 6 carbon atoms)
