Abstract
The present invention provides an inbred corn line designated HID3259, methods for producing a corn plant by crossing plants of the inbred line HID3259 with plants of another corn plant. The invention further encompasses all parts of inbred corn line HID3259, including culturable cells. Additionally provided herein are methods for introducing transgenes into inbred corn line HID3259, and plants produced according to these methods.
Claims20
A seed of the maize variety HID3259, representative seed sample deposited under ATCC Accession Number PTA-120437.
A plant, plant part or cell of maize variety HID3259, wherein a representative seed sample of said HID3259 variety has been deposited under ATCC Accession Number PTA-120437.
A maize plant that expresses all of the physiological and morphological characteristics of the maize plant of the variety HID3259 wherein a representative seed sample of said HID3259 variety has been deposited under ATCC Accession Number PTA-120437.
A process of introducing a heritable trait into maize plant HID3259 comprising:
- (a) crossing HID3259 plants grown from HID3259 seed, representative seed sample deposited under ATCC Accession Number PTA-120437, with plants of another maize plant that comprise a desired trait to produce hybrid progeny plants, (b) selecting hybrid progeny plants that have the desired trait to produce selected hybrid progeny plants;
- (c) crossing the selected progeny plants with the HID3259 plants to produce backcross progeny plants;
- (d) selecting for backcross progeny plants that have the desired trait to produce selected backcross progeny plants;
- and (e) repeating steps (c) and (d) at least three or more times to produce backcross progeny plants that comprise the desired trait and all of the physiological and morphological characteristics of maize inbred plant HID3259 when grown in the same environmental conditions.
