Abstract
The present invention provides an inbred corn line designated GNA0098ZL, methods for producing a corn plant by crossing plants of the inbred line GNA0098ZL with plants of another corn plant. The invention further encompasses all parts of inbred corn line GNA0098ZL, including culturable cells. Additionally provided herein are methods for introducing transgenes into inbred corn line GNA0098ZL, and plants produced according to these methods.
Claims20
A seed of the maize variety GNA0098ZL, representative seed sample deposited under ATCC Accession Number PTA-120436.
A plant, plant part or cell of maize variety GNA0098ZL, wherein a representative seed sample of said GNA0098ZL variety has been deposited under ATCC Accession Number PTA-120436.
A maize plant that expresses all of the physiological and morphological characteristics of the maize plant of the variety GNA0098ZL wherein a representative seed sample of said GNA0098ZL variety has been deposited under ATCC Accession Number PTA-120436.
A process of introducing a heritable trait into maize plant GNA0098ZL comprising:
- (a) crossing GNA0098ZL plants grown from GNA0098ZL seed, representative seed sample deposited under ATCC Accession Number PTA-120436, with plants of another maize plant that comprise a desired trait to produce hybrid progeny plants, (b) selecting hybrid progeny plants that have the desired trait to produce selected hybrid progeny plants;
- (c) crossing the selected progeny plants with the GNA0098ZL plants to produce backcross progeny plants;
- (d) selecting for backcross progeny plants that have the desired trait to produce selected backcross progeny plants;
- and (e) repeating steps (c) and (d) at least three or more times to produce backcross progeny plants that comprise the desired trait and all of the physiological and morphological characteristics of maize inbred plant GNA0098ZL when grown in the same environmental conditions.
