Abstract
The present invention provides an inbred corn line designated GAQ2011, methods for producing a corn plant by crossing plants of the inbred line GAQ2011 with plants of another corn plant. The invention further encompasses all parts of inbred corn line GAQ2011, including culturable cells. Additionally provided herein are methods for introducing transgenes into inbred corn line GAQ2011, and plants produced according to these methods.
Claims20
A seed of the maize variety GAQ2011, representative seed sample deposited under ATCC Accession Number PTA-120444.
A plant, plant part or cell of maize variety GAQ2011, wherein a representative seed sample of said GAQ2011 variety has been deposited under ATCC Accession Number PTA-120444.
A maize plant that expresses all of the physiological and morphological characteristics of the maize plant of the variety GAQ2011 wherein a representative seed sample of said GAQ2011 variety has been deposited under ATCC Accession Number PTA-120444.
A process of introducing a heritable trait into maize plant GAQ2011 comprising:
- (a) crossing GAQ2011 plants grown from GAQ2011 seed, representative seed sample deposited under ATCC Accession Number PTA-120444, with plants of another maize plant that comprise a desired trait to produce hybrid progeny plants, (b) selecting hybrid progeny plants that have the desired trait to produce selected hybrid progeny plants;
- (c) crossing the selected progeny plants with the GAQ2011 plants to produce backcross progeny plants;
- (d) selecting for backcross progeny plants that have the desired trait to produce selected backcross progeny plants;
- and (e) repeating steps (c) and (d) at least three or more times to produce backcross progeny plants that comprise the desired trait and all of the physiological and morphological characteristics of maize inbred plant GAQ2011 when grown in the same environmental conditions.
