Abstract
A technique includes determining at least one metric associated with a replication operation to replicate at least a portion of a first object stored on one of a client, a first storage appliance and a second storage appliance onto another one of the client, the first storage appliance and the second storage appliance. The technique further includes regulating the replication operation including selectively regulating at least one parameter of the replication operation based on the metric(s).
Claims15
A method comprising:
- determining at least one metric associated with a replication operation to replicate at least a portion of a first object stored on one of a client, a first storage appliance and a second storage appliance onto another one of the client, the first storage appliance and the second storage appliance;
- and
- regulating the replication operation, the regulating comprising selectively regulating at least one parameter of the replication operation based at least in part on the at least one metric.
An apparatus comprising:
- a processor-based metric analyzer to determine at least one metric associated with replication operation to replicate at least part of a first object stored on one of a client, a first storage appliance and a second storage appliance onto another one of the client, the first storage appliance and the second storage appliance;
- and
- a processor-based replication controller to regulate the replication operation, the controller being adapted to selectively regulate at least one parameter of the replication operation based at least in part on the at least one metric.
An article comprising a computer readable storage medium to store instructions that when executed by at least one processor cause the at least one processor to:
- determine at least one metric associated with a replication operation to replicate at least part of a first object stored on one of a client, a first storage appliance and a second storage appliance onto another one of the client, the first storage appliance and the second storage appliance;
- and
- regulate the replication operation, the regulation comprising selectively regulating at least one parameter of the replication operation based at least in part on the at least one metric.
