A device comprising:

• a memory;
• a medium access control sublayer logic coupled with the memory to generate a frame comprising a traffic indication map element, wherein the traffic indication map element comprises a block control field to indicate an encoding for a block of a page to which the medium access control sublayer logic is assigned.

• receiving, by a medium access control sublayer logic of an associated station, a frame comprising a traffic indication map element, wherein the traffic indication map element comprises a block control field to indicate an encoding for a block of a page to which an associated station is assigned;
• and
• decoding, by the medium access control sublayer logic, the block control field of the traffic indication map to determine a content of the block.

A device comprising:

• a memory;
• a medium access control sublayer logic coupled with the memory to receive a frame comprising a traffic indication map element, wherein the traffic indication map element comprises a block control field to indicate an encoding for a block of a page to which medium access control sublayer logic is assigned;
• and to decode the block control field of the traffic indication map to determine a content of the block.
