Abstract
An application is determined, which has a function of printing data using a printer and requests capability information of the printer. Based on the determined application and the capability information of the printer, sizes of selection candidates of a recording medium to be used for printing are decided. The decided sizes are provided to the application.

An information processing apparatus comprising:
- a determination unit configured to determine an application which has a function of printing data using a printer and requests capability information of the printer;
- a decision unit configured to decide, based on the application determined by said determination unit and the capability information of the printer, sizes of selection candidates of a recording medium to be used for printing;
- and
- a provision unit configured to provide the sizes decided by said decision unit to the application.

- a determination step of determining an application which has a function of printing data using a printer and requests capability information of the printer;
- a decision step of deciding, based on the application determined in the determination step and the capability information of the printer, sizes of selection candidates of a recording medium to be used for printing;

- a provision step of providing the sizes decided in the decision step to the application.
