Abstract
A polymer comprising an optionally substituted repeat unit of formula (I): wherein R1 and R2 in each occurrence are independently selected from H or a substituent; R1 and R2 may be linked to form a ring; and A is an optionally substituted linear, branched or cyclic alkyl group.

A polymer comprising a substituted or unsubstituted repeat unit of formula (I):
- wherein R1 and R2 in each occurrence are independently selected from H or a substituent;
- R1 and R2 may be linked to form a ring;
- and A is a substituted or unsubstituted linear, branched or cyclic alkyl group.

A substituted or unsubstituted monomer of formula (V):
- wherein X is a polymerisable group, and wherein R1 and R2 in each occurrence are independently selected from H or a substituent;
- R1 and R2 may be linked to form a ring;
- R1 and R2 are not linked;
- R1 and R2 are independently selected from the group consisting of hydrogen, substituted or unsubstituted aryl or heteroaryl groups a linear or branched chain of substituted or unsubstituted aryl or heteroaryl groups, and substituted or unsubstituted alkyl wherein one or more non-adjacent C atoms of the alkyl group may be replaced with O, S, substituted N, C═O and —COO—;
