Abstract
A saltwater fishing assembly includes a body resembling a forage fish. The body includes a quick connect device that is swivelable relative to a fishing line and is reelable to a fishing rod tip. A quick connection subassembly is connectable to the quick connect device of the body and includes a hook and is releasable with a hooked fish. Methods of using the fishing assembly are also provided.
Claims20
A leaderless fishing assembly for use with a rod and reel, the leaderless fishing assembly comprising:
- a quick connection assembly comprising a quick release fitting, a body connectable to the quick release fitting, and a collar configured to selectively release the body from the quick release fitting, the collar being rotatable, 360 degrees relative to the quick release fitting in both release and attach positions.
The leaderless fishing assembly of claim 4, wherein the quick release fitting is adapted to connect to a fishing line.
The leaderless fishing assembly of claim 5, wherein the body is rotatable 360 degrees relative to the fishing line.
The leaderless fishing assembly of claim 5, wherein the body is rotatable 360 degrees relative to the fishing line and the quick release fitting.
The leaderless fishing assembly of claim 8, wherein the body defines a raceway, and the collar is adapted to engage the ball bearing with the raceway, and wherein the collar is operable to release the body from the quick release fitting by engaging the ball bearing with the race.
The leaderless fishing assembly of claim 11, wherein the collar is rotatable 360 degrees relative to the quick release fitting when in the first position and when in the second position.
The leaderless fishing assembly of claim 11, wherein the quick release assembly has a first end and a second end opposite first end, wherein the first end is adapted to connect to a fishing line, and wherein the second end is adapted to engage with the collar.
The leaderless fishing assembly of claim 13, wherein the collar is movable to the release position by urging the collar toward the first end.
The leaderless fishing assembly of claim 14, wherein the collar is adapted to be urged by a spring constant in a direction toward the second end.
A leaderless fishing assembly for use with a rod and reel, the leaderless fishing assembly comprising:
- a quick connection subassembly comprising a quick release fitting connectable to a body, and a collar, wherein the collar is configured to selectively release the body from the quick release fitting, wherein the collar is movable from a first position, defining a release position, to a second position, defining an attachment position and, wherein the collar is rotatable 360 degrees relative to the quick release fitting when in the first position and when in the second position.
A fishing assembly comprising:
- a quick connection assembly comprising a quick release fitting, a body connectable to the quick release fitting, and a collar configured to selectively release the body from the quick release fitting, the collar being rotatable 360 degrees relative to the quick release fitting in both release and attach positions,
- wherein the quick release fitting has a first end and a second end opposite first end, wherein the first end is adapted to connect to a fishing line, and wherein the second end is adapted to engage with the body.
The leaderless fishing assembly of claim 20, wherein the collar is movable from a first position, defining a release position, to a second position, defining an attachment position.
The leaderless fishing assembly of claim 21, wherein the collar is rotatable 360 degrees relative to the quick release fitting when in the first position and when in the second position.
The leaderless fishing assembly of claim 22, wherein the collar is movable to the release position by urging the collar toward the first end.
