A computer-readable medium storing computer-executable instructions for navigating a calendar including life events, comprising:

• determining a period of time of a year to display in a calendar view;
• determining life events that have occurred for a user that is associated with the period of time using different content sources;
• determining life events to display;
• and
• displaying the calendar view including a display of the life events.

A system for navigating a calendar including life events, comprising:

• a processor and memory;
• an operating environment executing using the processor;
• and
• a calendar manager that is configured to perform actions comprising:
• determining a period of time of a year to display in a calendar view;
• determining life events that have occurred for a user that is associated with the period of time using content obtained from different content sources;
• determining life events to display within the period of time based in part on metadata obtained from the different content sources;
• and
• displaying the calendar view including a display of the life events.
