Abstract
A modular learning system is provided for publishing new and updated learning applications to users of the modular learning system. The learning application authors are validated by the modular learning system as credentialed learning application authors. The learning application authors are optionally granted access to use a content editing interface and revise information using a template provided by a template user. The resulting learning application may be translated and certified and requested for publication. After publication, update requests may be provided to the authoring user to remind the author to review and revise the learning application.
Claims10
A computer-implemented method for publishing a learning application in a modular learning system, the method comprising steps of:
- receiving a learning application authoring request from a user device operated by an authoring user;
- validating authoring user credentials of the authoring user based on attributes associated with the authoring user in an authoring user database;
- providing a content editing interface for display to the authoring user;
- accessing a learning application template in a learning application template database and including a template in the content editing interface;
- storing the learning application including content metadata received from the user device, the learning application conforming to the learning application template and a content metadata describing parameters for performance of the learning application;
- receiving a publishing request from learning application authoring user;
- determining an approval status of the learning application;
- and
- publishing the learning application to a learning user marketplace or learning user library.
A non-transitory computer-readable storage medium having tangibly embodied thereon a program of instructions executable by a processor, instructions causing a processor to execute steps of:
- receiving a learning application authoring request from a user device operated by an authoring user;
- validating authoring user credentials of the authoring user based on attributes associated with the authoring user in an authoring user database;
- providing a content editing interface for display to the authoring user;
- accessing a learning application template in a learning application template database and including a template in the content editing interface;
- storing a learning application including content metadata received from the user device, the learning application conforming to the learning application template and content metadata describing parameters for performance of the learning application;
- receiving a publishing request from learning application authoring user;
- determining an approval status of the learning application;
- and
- publishing the learning application to a learning user marketplace or learning user library.
An apparatus comprising:
- a network interface;
- a processor coupled to the network interface;
- a memory coupled to the processor, wherein a plurality of instructions for execution on the processor enabling the processor to execute the steps of:
- receiving a learning application authoring request from a user device operated by an authoring user;
- validating authoring user credentials of the authoring user based on attributes associated with the authoring user in an authoring user database;
- providing a content editing interface for display to the authoring user;
- accessing a learning application template in a learning application template database and including the template in the content editing interface;
- storing a learning application including content metadata received from the user device, the learning application conforming to the learning application template and content metadata describing parameters for performance of the learning application;
- receiving a publishing request from learning application authoring user;
- determining an approval status of the learning application;
- and
- publishing the learning application to a learning user marketplace or learning user library
