A method of operating a memory controller includes determining an access property for a target address region and controlling a threshold voltage distribution of memory cells included in the target address region according to the determined access property.

A method of operating a memory controller, comprising:
- determining an access property for a target address region of a nonvolatile memory device;
- and
- controlling a threshold voltage distribution of memory cells in the target address region in accordance with the determined access property.
A memory controller comprising:
- an access property determination module that determines an access property for a target address region of a nonvolatile memory device;
- and
- an operation condition control module that controls a threshold voltage distribution of memory cells in the target address region in accordance with the determined access property.
