Abstract
A user can manage personal contact information in a contacts application across multiple writable service provider accounts with only a minimum of user action required. An update function of the contacts application gives the user the ability to easily copy one or more contact records brought up in the contacts application to writable service provider accounts selectively chosen by the user.

A method in a communication device, comprising:
- in a contacts application, selecting a contact record of an originating service provider account associated with a user of the communication device;
- in response to activation of an update function of the contacts application from the selected contact record, presenting for selection a plurality of writable service provider accounts associated with the user to update with the selected contact record, each of the plurality of writable service provider accounts having a contacts book associated with the user;
- selecting one or more of the plurality of writable service provider accounts to update with the selected contact record;
- and
- updating one or more of the selected writable service provider accounts with at least a portion of the selected contact record to the contacts book associated with the user for each of the selected one or more writable service provider accounts.

- in a contacts application of the communication device, presenting for selection a plurality of contacts records in an originating service provider account associated with a user of the communication device;
- receiving selection of a contact record of the plurality of contact records in the originating service provider account;
- detecting an activation of an update function of the contacts application from the selected contact record;
- in response to the activation of the update function, presenting for selection a plurality of writable service provider accounts associated with the user to which to copy the selected contact record, the originating service provider account included in the plurality of writable service provider accounts and each of the plurality of writable service provider accounts having a contacts book associated with the user;
- receiving selection of one or more of the plurality of writable service provider accounts associated with the user to update with the selected contact record;
- and
- updating each of the selected one or more writable service provider accounts with at least a portion of the selected contact record.

- selecting a first contact record, said contact record including data entries associated with a first service provider account;
- following selection of the first contact record, presenting a menu of actionable operations, said menu comprising an actionable operation to update service provider accounts;
- in response to a command to update service provider accounts, displaying a plurality of service provider accounts;
- in response to a selection of a second service provider account, automatically establishing communication with a second contact record associated with said second service provider account;
- following establishing communication with said second contact record, selecting data for an entry from the first contact record and transmitting said data to said second contact record to associate the data with a corresponding entry in the second contact record.
